Samantha Gellert

LCSW

Navigating depression and ADHD as a tween, Samantha started therapy before it was cool. Guided by outstanding therapists, she has worked to better understand herself and navigate her world with greater clarity. Samantha’s lived experience now inspires her work as a psychotherapist, motivating her to help others find that same relief, growth, and insight that therapy offered her. Samantha earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and her master’s degree from New York University.

Sam is from a large family, is currently engaged, and loves pilates, reading, plants, and game nights. She doesn’t believe in being a “blank slate” therapist—she shows up as a real person, bringing warmth, lived experience, and genuine care to every session.

Approach & Values

Samantha works with adults, including college and graduate students. She has extensive experience working with the LGBTQ+ community. With her clients, Sam navigates depression, anxiety, identity, life transitions, burnout, self-esteem, disordered eating, and body-image.

As a trauma-informed clinician, Sam believes people are capable of real change and a brighter future. Drawing from IFS, DBT, CBT, and psychodynamic theory, she tailors her approach to explore past and present experiences to understand patterns, emotions, and relationships—and to create lasting growth.
