Lisa Poelle

Parent Coach

Lisa originally hails from San Jose, California, where she married her high school sweetheart – right out of high school! Initially, she earned a degree in Early Childhood Education and taught preschool. After having children, she changed her career focus to the fascinating challenges of parenting. Back in school as a working mother, she earned a degree in Masters in Human Development.

Lisa has worked as a Parent Educator and Early Childhood Specialist for more than 30 years. She has led parenting classes, offered individual parent counseling sessions, and consulted with child care programs, including preschools, au pair training programs, day cares, and pediatricians on behavioral challenges of young children, ages birth to five.

Lisa is the author of a parenting book, “The Biting Solution.” She consults with individual parents nationwide to help them avoid suddenly losing their toddler’s child care. Lisa and her husband have called NYC home since 2007; they love the energy, diversity, theater, and food!

Approach & Values

Lisa takes a practical, problem-solving approach to working with children and families, partnering closely with parents to identify the root causes of behavioral and emotional challenges. Sessions are focused and collaborative, offering clear, realistic strategies that parents can implement immediately and build upon over time.

Many families experience meaningful progress in just a few sessions. Lisa offers home visits and consults with schools and primary care providers as needed. She also supports children navigating parental divorce, consulting with custody evaluators and, when appropriate, providing expert witness testimony.

Lisa focuses on building parental confidence by teaching proven, customized techniques that create a strong and lasting foundation for effective intervention.
