Nadia Bassino, MA
Nadia earned her degree in Clinical Psychology in her native Peru. After a number of years of intense clinical work she furthered her formal studies earning a master’s degree in Theoretical Studies in Psychoanalysis. She has vast experiences in both in clinical settings and in socially-oriented programs: she ran the psychological department of a non-profit organization that awards scholarships to underprivileged children and she also had a successful full time private practice for 10 years in Lima, where she worked with children, adolescents and adults.
Three years ago she made the decision to move to New York, where she is earning another degree in psychoanalysis at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research (IPTAR).
Nadia is a Spanish native speaker and fluent in English. She is interested in the performing arts and in disciplines that create connections between body and mind.
Nadia understands that most of us struggle to attain the life we want. We all have moments in which our usual resources feel insufficient to hold us together. Therapy offers the opportunity to identify and understand the ideas, conflicts, and emotions that are holding us back, thereby creating the possibility for change.
Nadia often sees the immense relief people experience when revealing their anxieties to an attuned and trained listener. Through this trusting relationship and process, Nadia’s greater goal is to help you achieve long lasting change and to be prepared for future life challenges. In her almost two decades in the field, Nadia has seen repeatedly how everyone can improve their lives through deeper self-knowledge and the better decisions which result.
