Deborah Saunders, LCSW-R
Deborah is a true seasoned professional, bringing five decades of clinical experience to her therapeutic practice. She started the first Cancer Support group at Bellevue Hospital in the 1970’s, and was one of the first professionals on the hospice team at Beth Israel Medical Center.
In more recent years, Deborah has primarily worked in private practice with families going through fertility and adoption issues, as well as families with special needs individuals. She presently leads a support group for parents at CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorders).
Deborah’s many years of experience have given her the privilege of being strongly connected to a wide range of patients and their families. She understands how to actually have fun in treatment, while working on creating meaningful change. Deborah empowers her clients, even in the most serious crises, to find solace and pleasure in the present moment.
Deborah is the rare clinician with experience in both deep psycho-analytic work and short-term, results-oriented counseling. She is an expert in helping people resolve crises both internally and with the world outside.
